Hey everyone! With the new year comes a bunch of awesome new opportunities. Whether it’s to eat healthy, exercise more, read a classic book, whatever it is, I hope you guys don’t give up! I’ve chosen to continue reading through the Bible but to be better about it - to really study what God is telling me at any given moment. Don’t get too caught up in worldly goals because it’s God’s glory we should be living for.
However, if you wanna do 200 push-ups a day I don’t see anything wrong with that haha Just keep in mind that our bodies and achievements only last for a little while but God is forever
Hey guys! WIth Christmas coming up I know it’s easy for all of us to get lost in the presents and the gifts but we need to remember that Christmas is the celebration of Jesus’ birth. My family always makes a birthday cake for Jesus to keep the day in perspective, so do something with your family to help everyone remember why we celebrate Christmas. Maybe read Luke 2:1-20 as a family - it could only take five or ten minutes. Just a thought for you all >
May I ask what your favorite bible verse about love is? I know so many! Trying to find a real good one thats not lengthy yet still has a great deal of significance.
Excellent question! If you’re looking for an example of love from God I really like Galatians 2:20, but if you’re looking for why we should love other people I like 1 John 3:18. 1 John 4:19 is fantastic as well. Let me know if you need something else! ><>
One of the hardest things to do as a Christian is spend time in the Word. We get sidetracked and worn out through the day and when we get home we just want to sleep. Let me tell you this, though, I’ve found that the easiest way to make sure you do devotions is to keep your Bible accessible. You should do this anyway haha But keep it on your nightstand or on your dresser or even on your pillow - that way you’ll see it and may remember to crack it open every now and then.
For those of you who would like to read with me I’m going to be starting Exodus tonight, beginning with chapters 1-4. >
“Nowhere in scripture do I see balanced life with a little bit of God added in as an ideal for us to emulate. Yet when I look at our churches this is exactly what I see: A lot of people who have added Jesus to their lives. People who have in a sense asked Him to join them on their life journey and follow them wherever they feel they should go, rather than following Him as we are commanded. The God of the universe is not something we can just add to our lives and keep on as we did before. The Spirit who raised Christ from the dead is not someone we can just call on when we want a little extra power in our lives. Jesus Christ did not die in order to follow us, He died and rose again so that we could forget everything else and follow Him to the cross, to true Life.”—Francis Chan (via 0ctober-27th)
Haha, I was actually serious the other day when I asked if you guys were with me for a teen revolution. There are a lot of things that I’m very passionate about that I feel like if enough people were properly informed we could do a lot of damage in the kingdom. I don’t know exactly how I would deliver this information, whether through videos, podcasts, blog posts, or what, I’m not sure… but I want to do this. I love you guys and I love God and I want us to be powerful warriors for the Lord - warriors that people are afraid of. We could be huge, you guys.
